The word "geoleum" （걸음） in the title means "step" in Korean。 In the last decade or so， certain aspects of Korean culture have taken the Western world by storm。 This phenomenon is known as “한류” （Hallyu） or “The Korean Wave” and this includes Korean food， dramas， and especially music。 K-pop is building immense popularity in the Americas， Europe， and pretty much everywhere you can think of。 As a result， Korean teachers like myself have noticed a major jump in interest in learning the Korean language。 While you don’t need to speak the language in order to enjoy Korean food， dramas， or even K-pop， many people have made the decision to study Korean。 If you are one of these people， then welcome， I'm glad you are here！ In this book， I will provide basic information to help you be able to read Korean， learn how to make simple sentences， and ultimately set you up for success in your Korean learning journey toward fluency。
